Nestled in the heart of the Arkansas Delta, Birdeye Farms strives to grow nutritious, fresh and most importantly tasty produce for the upper Arkansas delta region. Committed to sustainable farming, we grow a wide selection of fruits, vegetables, herbs and animals with consumers in mind. At the end of the day, we believe that good food has the power to transform people, places and communities. Our produce can be found at the ASU Regional Farmer's Market and Delta Grit.
Whitfield M. Smith has a passion for small scale regenerative farming. He is the part-owner and farm manager of Birdeye Farms, a low till, bio-intensive, “real organic” farm. He started his farming journey back in 2017 when he discovered heirloom seeds. He was fascinated by them and dreamed of starting an heirloom watermelon seed company. After realizing how difficult it might be to make a living off selling watermelon seeds, he turned his attention to small-scale regenerative farming. He started market gardening back in 2018 with vegetables and lots of watermelons. Smith continues to implement cutting-edge farming techniques and is excited about what the future holds for Birdeye Farms.
